Going Back To Villeneuve l'Archevêque

December 2025

I receive a call from filmmaker
Rebeca Ofek who tells me about her
 intention to make a
documentary film about
Françoise Cactus.
https://www.rebecaofek.com/
Rebeca asked me to help her scout
locations in her hometown of
Villeneuve l'Archevêque.
It had to be done as quickly
as possible, given that the director
 was seven months pregnant.

Miraculously enough, I was able
to make a round trip on
December 15, 2025, to meet Rebecca.
During this visit, she was able to discover
Françoise's childhood home and her primary school,
as well as interview Françoise's sister-in-law,
who had welcomed us, and her younger sister,
who happened to be there.
It was extremely moving for
me to return to Françoise's
family home where I had spent
many moments with her.
The house, although abandoned,
was still intact, with many of
Françoise's drawings on the walls,
her bedroom with her books,
cassettes, and posters.
There were also the family photo albums,
including pictures of us when we were
there during family celebrations.

I went to the village church,

which Françoise and I used to visit

every time we were in Villeneuve.

I think we both loved that place.

I sang the song "Puisque tu es Partie"
there with her guitar, which I wrote
for her when she left us.

Marquis de Coco Nut sur L'Adamant

The story begins rather badly.
On January 12th, I was booked to perform at Gobe Lune, a concert café in the 20th arrondissement of Paris.

When I arrived, I noticed there were no posters, the bartender wasn't even aware I was scheduled to perform that evening, and the person who booked me wasn't there—a real flop!
A few regulars, more or less drunk, are nevertheless there, the owner of the bar invites me to set up the sound system and play. Once my microphone set up, I introduce myself and ask the audience what I can play for them, a Mambo, Rock'N'Roll, Tango? A spectator calls out: "Liberté ou la Mort" !

The spectator in question is Arnaud Vallet, with whom I naturally strike up a conversation.

Arnaud tells me about the Adamant and then offered to book me there.
Obviously this proposition was very tempting for me. My commitment was to cook my legendary dish: Red Beans with Rice for 50 people, the psychiatric staff who work on the Adamant and the patients who attend it.
This would be followed by a group interview by the patients and to round it all off with a show..

APRIL IN BERLIN

April 2025. More than 4 years after Françoise Cactus's death, I was able to organize a concert in Berlin that I saw as a tribute from the members of "The Lolitas" in memory of Françoise. The Lolitas never reformed after their split in 1992. This never occurred to anyone. After her death, I myself felt the desire to record an album with her "Framus" guitar, which I had inherited, as a tribute to her. I then asked my former bandmates if they would be up for one last concert in honor of our singer and drummer.
They all agreed, beside Michele Veleno (aka "Tutti Frutti"), who was unable to travel to Berlin at the time.
The choice of the location for the event was quickly made and took place at the "Wild at Heart", a legendary club in the heart of Kreuzberg. The concert date was finally set for April 19, 2025.
Considering the limited communication on social media, around a hundred "fans" turned out tonight, which I consider a success. The vast majority were fans of the original "Lolitas." Almost no followers of Stéréo Total or Françoise Cactus's very popular shows on Radio Eins.
I opened the show with a solo performance, performing several songs from my CD "Puisque tu es partie." Tex Morton performed a rock 'n' roll trio show with his bandmates Andy Laaf on drums and Matthias Wyder on saxophone! This was followed by "Me and My Monkey," a Beatles cover band with Don Paviano on vocals, Bo Busshe, on drums, Tom on piano, in which Olga La Basse currently plays bass under the nickname: "Cheetah".
Finally, after these 3 sets, Tex Morton, Olga La Basse and I went back on stage together after more than thirty years.Olga La Basse's partner, Jon aka Jonzon, had the difficult task of taking the drumsticks for Françoise. The concert was surprisingly very "Lolitas": Chaotic, bright and intense moments with an audience delighted to relive the Lolitas live once again and the most likely for the last time ever.
