I arrived by train in Berlin at the end of August 1981. I knew absolutely no one there and I initially had a drop-off point in Berlin Zehlendorf with people my father had known during a vacation in Greece and who were ready to host me for two weeks while they were going somewhere on a trip.
It was after a week that I met Françoise Cactus for the first time in a Bar 39 Oranienstrasse in Berlin Kreuzberg.
After noticing Françoise's very pronounced French accent, it was rather easy to initiate a conversation and we immediately hooked up.
This first meeting was more than fruitful since after it, she was able to find me accommodation which allowed me to gain a foothold in Berlin. Since then we have always remained linked.
After a short time she suggested that I come and live in a in a squat following the departure of one of the roomates. This is when our relationship really started.
In this place ,in the "Wrangelkiez" in Berlin Kreuzberg, also lived a Jens Umlauf, a painter artist, Christian Schulz a photographer and a musician with his girlfriend.There was a joyful and also very creative atmosphere.
I quickly set up a room to be able to play music and began to practice the guitar intensively.
After a while wondering if I not better play the drums, I managed to find one. It was at this moment that Françoise was also interested in it and that our musical adventure was born.
